Indeed. There are enough intelligent, open minded and quite frankly lovely people investing time in this game that would gladly give their time to a system such as this.

When I read through the update I was all like "Give it a go!" but now I`ve seen it in action I hate it. Fortunately I haven`t been the recipient of any reporting but I have seen others in AB who are killing away and suddenly get the you have been reported for leeching text come up.

Seems to me to be encouraging vigilates, very strange move.

This will not work!

However, ArenaNet is not a non-profit organization, and cannot legally accept such help.

Volunteer Game Masters would create liability issues for ArenaNet.

Default er, whine whine whine

For the last 2 years you all've been bitching about leavers and griefers; they implement a system and you don't even want to let it run its course. Like any mechanism, it'll have to be adjusted. From my experience, I was thinking the opposite, that they need to increase the penalty period.

Sorry, but this is too obviously doomed to exploit. You don't need a beta run, just more thought.

Like:

The HoS chest run.. how does adding a few easy to kill mobs at gates with barrel spawn available nerf the exploit? How was that ever a good idea for a fix? Why was it even implemented? It took them three tries to get it even close to fixing...

Idk, I may be off but to me Anet seem to be getting lazy with these 'improvements'.

Maybe ANet could use a system like Runescape's moderators... ANet chooses the members and makes them moderators, which will be like undercover, and they have the ability to mute people, and their reports to ANet will be top priority to take care of over other reports. That way, less people will stop breaking the rules because they'll be scared that one of the undercover mods will be around. Just a thought.

Hahaha typical Gaile post. "I don't know anything about the issue, but I'll assume that you're exaggerating!" What a joke. Anet should fire the CR team and hire a 'ban' team. I think the general population would be much happier.

I rofled so much just then.

I think there should be a minimum of like 6 months to use it so people learn the rules since most people don't read the manuscripts etc etc.. they just go and play the game.

You can't please everyone ALL the time.

Some of the big complaints I've been seeing have to do with the individuals who prematurely leave matches.

"You guys are all noob runners. Learn the game, Buh bye."

How about instead of leaving the match because your teammates are new, how about you tough it out and try to HELP your team. This is an online game, the fact is, if you choose to play with other players, you need to depend on their skills to succeed. Just because you think you are too good for the match, why leave and essentially screw over the rest of the players?

Again, you can't please everyone ALL the time.

I'll take the flawed system over teams of quiters anyday.

I played my mesmer for a match in AB.

Reported 7 times. Beat that.

Tbh, (knowing that this mess will be fixed) i find it rather funny and i use it as an indicator. For what? It tells me i'm doing my job, really well.

EDIT: Fenix hit the nail on the head. Either Gaile is trying but failing to avoid a boiling issue, or really has absolutely no clue about what's happening in one of the most popular PvP gametypes.

I've only played AB during last two days.

I've seen one person reported for leeching.

All games where people actually paid attention and didn't run around like headless chicken were close wins. All of this was with PUGs.

So from this experience, I can only say that in AB, the gameplay has only improved.

Might have to try RA, although that place is drama central, so it could be that there is abuse going on.

It might be also interesting to see show of hands, how many of those who complain over the system have been leaving teams regularly before this.

Uh, how so? Because what people say in a game matters oh so very much?

I'll support bans for offensive language as soon as they start banning for offensive stupidity. If I don't get to offend people for pointing out their rampant stupidity, they don't get to offend me by being rampantly stupid. Fair?

Respect is earned. You don't get it from people by default.

And as for Goldleader: players are not charity organizations. Nobody should have to babysit anyone. I agree it would be nice if all players helped each other, but they are under no obligation, moral or otherwise, to do so. Everyone is in this game to have fun, so if helping other people isn't fun for you, you don't do it, period.

The actual valid support for punishing leavers in RA is the fact that TA exists.

How do you know? Are you doing checks to see who has been punished fairly or not, or just assuming...I guess if this was the case, we wouldn't have this thread.
It just seems rather cavalier to just shrug off the problem and dismiss the important needs of the community, while at the same time bashing the OP.

Here:

If you have some intelligence you will know when your battle is over. The amount of time wasted versus the amount of time wasted from leavers does not balance whatsoever. Leavers = 20-30 sec to do another match, while I've even played 2v4 and won. While making it so you can't leave means MANY more battles will eventually cause 8-12 minute runs as each team will not want to get dishonor points to leave a match early....why can't ppl see this?

So...you are supporting leavers and saying that it is quicker to leave and join another?

There is a place that you can get the perfect team you desire. It is called TA. This is called Random Arena, not Leave-until-you-get-the-team-you-want Arena
